How hard is it to cycle Lands end to John O Groats?

I'm planning to cycle lands end to John o Groats in the summer with my dad and were hoping to do it over 14 days. I'm a confident cyclist but I was just wondering- How hard is it? Ps im 14!
It will depend on what kind of shape you are in and how far you can ride. You want to practice riding with a high cadence 70-90 rpm's with a lite pressure on the pedals. That uses your slow twitch muscles that can go on for a very long time. Once you start mashing on the pedals it will cause you to use your glycogen supply and you legs wont last as long. You want to start ridding for an hour or more each day to get use to the saddle. Get a trainer to put your bike on so you can ride in cold and bad weather. You want to be able to ride a bike for 6 hours or more a day.

Well, as a lot of people do it, can't be too hard. Lots of hills I'd suspect. Will be easier if you're not going to be hauling much weight. Load your dad up with that.
The main issues will be getting a reliable bike with low gearing that fits you well, and making sure you can pedal it for 6 hours a day without being totally exhausted and/or having a worn out butt. Seriously, the saddle, or seat, is very, very important on long rides. Avoid anything soft or having a wide horn.
Don't overlook the importance of proper nutrition on such a tour. You'll be burning about 400 cals/hour of pedaling and will need to eat a lot and often to keep from bonking. Keeping up with your hydration status is as important as eating enough.

If the time distance from Southampton to Caen is different and yet it is a smaller distance than that to Scotland, why are they not different?
Also, if it works on latitude and longitude, then why is it not different from lands end to dover?
Because the longitudinal distance is smaller than a time zone. Time zones are based on longitudinal distances not latitudinal.

The shop l work is is having a charity bike ride , we are putting an excercise bike in the shop window and cycling the eqivalent of lands end to john ogroats. Does anyone know how many miles it is end to end?
I've been to Lands End and John O'Groats and I think you'll have a much better view from the shop window as there's not much to see... except sea... and where are you doing it & for what charity, maybe some of us can pop along and take a look and even put a few coins in your collection tin
