They can’t send out a product, prize ticket , or scratch off card that can be redeemed for a better product at the time your convention display goes up. Combining Promotional Techniques

Any of these marketing techniques can be used individually for a great impact. But the best way to use them is if you combine two or more. For example, use tradeshow giveaways along with a personal appeal to drive traffic.

I need inexpensive game ideas for a trade show. I've used a bag toss game & need something new!

I've been using a bag toss type game for the past 7 years and need something new. I do about 3-5 trade shows a year. The industry is Insurance (personal & surplus lines). Each trade show has a different "theme" so I want something that I can take to each trade show that doesn't require changing much.


IDK I think your bag toss idea is pretty clever.

Sometimes the best idea is one you know works.


Not sure if it suits your needs, but Farkle is fun, inexpensive and easy to pack. It's really just 6 dice.

You could come up with a theme and make a nice sign like "Do YOU Farkle?" or "Farkle, Farkle, Farkle" and make it a little Vegas-like stand with a playing surface and white board for high scores on 3 throws of dice. You could even find some huge gag dice so they are more visible (like the 8" dice half-way down the page on http://www.presentationresources.net/dic e.html ). The decoration, sign and high rollers list would be the kicker.

It's not as physically active as the bag toss, though. There are also magnetic or velcro darts. Or make your own game with a big pair of dice like at http://www.enasco.com/product/SB41719CQ .

Are you talking about cloth or vinyl totes, these will be difficult to find at .33 a piece, you may just want to go with plastic shopping bags,,

How do i start a "product line"/ turn my designs into products?

Ok, so one of my passions is drawing and over the years i have developed alot of characters and such, and I have constantly been told i should turn my designs into products. So my question is, I would really like see my designs on shirts, makeup bags, and so on, i just want to know how do it? Ive heard something about licensing companies or trade shows? I have only about $5000 to get it started but I really want it to look professional, not one of those generic tshirt websites (cafepress), ive seen. Anyways id appreciate all the help i can get :) thanks


Actually, I have gotten several nice shirts from Cafepress, but they do have their limits. One is that you cannot re-size the image you want to put on a custom shirt [or rather you have to re-size it before you go to their order form], and therefore some of the shirts have designs that seem too small or too large for the shirt. Still, they are nice shirts, and they work well if you select carefully.

Kinko's also does things with tee shirts, coffee mugs, mouse pads, etc., and so does Bay Photo, so you can do a lot of shopping around. Look at who has the best wholesale lot prices, and have them make a single shirt or mug for you. If YOU like it, chances are your customers will, too, because you will naturally market them in the places where you go to the people you like to hang out with.

You can also license your designs to someone else to make, which is sort of what you are doing with Cafepress. Again, the big question is who will put the money into having them made and the work into selling them? If you have a business-oriented friend, perhaps you could go into partnership, with you supplying the creative talent and your partner supplying the business savvy. Many a family business has prospered that way, too. Know any sensible guys?
