How to get from grand central station to times square?
Feb 15, 2010 by dbeebz | Posted in Commuting
my friend wants to meet up in times square, but i only know how to get to times square. but i want to meet her at the grand central station, how do i get from times square to grand central station. i'd most likely rather walk then take another train.
Google maps can do a walking route. I put in Grand Central Station and Times Square and got a 14 minute route along E 42nd St and W 43rd St. You can also do a public transit route with them and it is 4 minutes on the subway.
You should check out Trip123's transit trip planner at the 2nd link below as it plans a trip from any origin address to a destination address in the NYC metro area with arrival and "leave" times.
Good luck and safe travels!

How long is the transit from Grand Central Terminal to White Plains at the peak morning hours?
Nov 06, 2007 by bolinger81380 | Posted in New York City
This is my first trip to New York City and I have to go to White Plains on the Metro-North Railway during the peak morning hours on a Monday. How long will it take for me to get to White Plains from Grand Central Terminal? I need to plan so I get to where I need to be on time.
You will need to take the Metro North Railroad (not the normal train). Some trains take 50 minutes and some take 35 minutes, so make sure to allow at least 1 hour if you don't want to be late.

How far is Grand Central Station to Radio City Music Hall?
Oct 20, 2008 by Chris | Posted in New York City
Going into the city on 12/5 for the Radio City Christmas Show. Taking the train into Grand Central. How far of a walk is it? Thanks!
not far at all.
after you get off your train, find your way to the Northwest Passage, instead of going out the main building. this will take you all the way to East 47th Street and Madison Avenue, which will save you a good 5-10 minutes and extra walking.
the Northwest and Northeast Passages were opened in 1999 to relieve passengers who work *north* of GCT from the burden of having to walk all the way down to 44th Street and "doubling back" to get to their trains.
from there, just walk uptown to 50th, make a left, and walk to Radio City at 50th and 6th Avenue. that part of the walk will take no more than 10 minutes.
