Changing my blinker bulbs on my car?

I work at a car dealership and I took my car in for an oil change on Thursday. The few days before the front right blinker was acting up and working half the time and then working perfectly other times. I asked the service adviser to ask the lube tech to check the connection and to make sure that the bulb was fine, and of course the idiot (hate the guy anyway) was too lazy to grab a pen and write it on the ticket.

So when I asked him what he did with the blinker after I picked up my keys and paid, he said he

"checked it at least 10 times and it was working fine so it was a waste of time"

So I made him go out and check it and sure enough it didn't work again, so he just smacks it a little and says "there its working NOW"

Quite frankly I'm a little perturbed at this guy. I was there as a customer, not an employee.

So tonight I was driving home from a friend's house and all of the sudden the blinker stops working completely. Usually it works after a few tries but NOPE.

So basically how do you change a damn blinker bulb on a car?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but this is coming from a 16 year old girl who isn't too car savvy.

I drive a 98 Plymouth Neon if it matters.
Thanks for the great advice guys, I'll probably grab one of the guys in the back over their lunch break to give it a quick look. They are usually pretty good about giving me help, and making sure that my car is safe for me to drive. I've been roaming the place since I was 6 and it's like a family back there, so they'd probably be willing to give me some help. Thanks though.

An intermittent problem like that could very well be the bulb. A loose filament is contacting sometimes, and other times not. It's almost certainly not a ground problem, as if that were the case, the electricity always tries to find an alternate path, and you get what us mechanics in the know call "gremlins". That's where your lights start acting in a totally irrational manner.

Anyway, I would definitely try a new bulb, or at least take a close look at the one that's in there. I'd bet hard cash that one end of the filament is busted loose. You have to take the housing out to reach the bulb from behind. These pics show the steps pretty good;
