Flooding with a dam merely allows toxins to settle in a holding tank; some beneficial breakdown sure, but eventually producing dredge spoils. Keep this issue in view -- great work Gazette. If all the local property owners want this, then they need to go as a collective group to a bank and secure financing to buy the property from the Powell's, or pay them what they'd be getting to have it in the wetlands program. This is not something that the rest of JCC needs to have hanging over their heads. If the local gov't enters into it, then what happens down the road when the cost to maintain the new dam is more expensive then the surrounding homeowners can afford? my family is driving to south carolina for vacation and my mom does want to drive the whole thing so i offered to drive as much as i can but i got to know if its ok

within hydrangeas leafy form
there lives a couple I adore
green on green they convalesce
under skies of cotton fluff
I watched him court the lady lizard
a stately creature he appeared
and as she neared him he would show
his bright orange balloon
such a sight
alas he started turning gray,
I watched in horror as he chewed
and then it became clear to me
sweet Reginald outgrew his skin
and so the lady
(now Virginia)
turned and sheltered deep within
lush green leaves of her hydrangea
as he shed the ugly white
he rested on a leaf for hours
before the sun crept out of sight
and showers threatened
retired his guard...
two days later I approached that large
hydrangea bush
what should I behold but lizard loving
making love in broad daylight
their bodies close their tails became
a perfect heart formation
could not resist this sweet temptation
we shot ten frames while they looked pained
the cool expression on their faces
as voyeurs filmed them in the act
and now I wait for baby lizards
if they survive my dog and cat....

I seldom put my insignia for a poem, but this deserves it. Haha, I like it. But you must know from biology lizards are hatched from eggs, so, that would be hard for you finding where they keep their eggs. And much less, if they wait for you once they are hatched.
