McAllister roughed up in SWB loss | River Avenue Blues
I was at the Vermont-Staten Island game tonight. Mojica’s 2nd error was likely the reason he left the game – hard one-hopper that caught his bare hand. Appeared to hit the fleshy part of his palm, but had to hurt. Roller is a big boy and his swing is sweet. Didn’t result in any damage, but hit a few balls very hard (couple foul, one to deep left in a VERY big ballpark). Sosa is very smooth in both the field and at bat. He could be a good one. Turley is big as well and throws HARD. His final line isn’t a good indication of how he pitched – other than one inning (4 runs) he was dominant. I was hoping to see Deleon, but I should be able to get to the game tomorrow with hopes of seeing him.
Miranda has virtually no trade value most likely. And why would you get rid of Miranda and keep Tracy? Because of Tracy’s versatility? I’m guessing that’s it.
Also the bullpen has been crap, so the more arms there are to prove themselves, the better. At least that’s the way I see it. Gaudin has been awful, but replace him with a pitcher if anything.
Bullpen > bench player
What could the Yankees get for Pena? Maybe a team would bite because he’s a shortstop, so maybe that would make sense.
Also, the Yankees don’t NEED bench bats. It’s good to have, but it’s not going to improve their win record by much. They are bench players for a reason. I don’t disagree with much that you said, but I’d much rather see the Yankees get a good arm for the bullpen, than see a new bench player.
However, like you said the Yankees have candidates for the bullpen in the minors, and that approach has worked for the past couple of years. It’s a bit of a toss up when I think of it that way.
There was a spot open in my scenario sorry. Release Gaudin or Mosely, call up Jonathan Albaladejo and demote Miranda or trade him for organizational filler. Tracy takes the released pitchers spot on the 40 man roster and Albaladejo makes the pen stronger. Miranda is a 4A player. Too good for AAA and not good enough so far in the Majors. He has been a good soldier let him get some time elsewhere. For those that want a lefty bat in the lineup Tracy is lefthanded. Does tracy play outfield as well? We have roster flexibility so I’d like to see the Yanks use it.
I don’t believe Tracy plays the outfield. He plays 1B/3B.
And Miranda hasn’t gotten a chance to prove himself at the major league level. I wouldn’t call him a AAAA player. He’s probably a decent platoon player in the majors. He can contribute to a team.
Tracy takes the released pitchers spot on the 40 man roster
It’s odd that you have so much trust in Tracy. I’m not sure I’d take him over Miranda at this point. Tracy has major league experience, but I’m not sure what he is at this point.
